Description:

Solugrowth is in search for a Trade Lane Coordinator - Ocean/Sea Freight to assist with commercial activities with 3rd party and internal service providers, to ensure that the business unit achieves maximum customer service and revenue.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant qualification
  • Ocean/Sea Freight Forwarding experience crucial
  • Imports/Exports experience in SA & African regions
  • Cargo Wise experience advantageous
  • Excellent MS Office skills

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that shipment files are handled in accordance to the various process flows and agreed SOP.
  • Assist client services with any queries related to operations and documentary requirements needed to successfully facilitate a booking
  • Check costing sheet from sales
  • Make a booking with the preferred carrier(s)
  • Send booking confirmations to client services
  • Monitor booking placed, follow up with the shipping line and booking party to get the space released.
  • Check draft bills prior to sending to client services and get draft confirmation where needed.
  • Monitor SOB dates and update tracking/client services
  • Ensure that client services are kept up to date on the progress of their shipments by updating MANTO and sending them regular status reports as per client agreed SOP.
  • Track all shipments daily until SOB on last ocean freight leg to final POD
  • Escalate transhipments delays to the carriers locally and ensure containers gets loaded on board on the first available vessel.
  • Find space and equipment on alternative carriers or service providers where the nominated carrier cannot accommodate the booking
  • Ensure bookings is managed within the agreed sell rate
  • Update client services and sales where a shipment is book outside the agreed rate or validity
  • Ensure updated rates are communicated to client services and sales immediately upon rate confirmation from the carrier
  • Ensure that the highest level of customer service is always given and customer queries are dealt with timeously
  • Ensure that your own work area is kept neat and tidy at all times.
  • Ensure that you adhere to the guidelines set out in your employment contract (timekeeping, internet usage, dress code, etc.)
