Trade Mark Attorney
Your role
You’ll be a part of our
Patent & Trade Mark
(PTA) team based in Melbourne and will work closely with our Partners and the wider IP team, gaining exposure to some of the most complex and interesting matters in the market.
Our PTA team delivers a comprehensive patents, trade marks and designs service. We proudly hold a band one ranking for intellectual property in Chambers Asia Pacific.

We encourage our attorneys and lawyers to find their niche and specialise in areas they’re interested in, while building a strong foundation across their field.
As a Trade Mark Attorney you will work directly with a range of local and international clients, offering a broad range of services, including:
- Brand protection advice, including availability searches, pre-filing advice and ways to optimise protection.
- Filing, prosecution and post-registration management of trade mark applications in Australia, New Zealand , as well as International Registrations.
- Disputes, including trade mark oppositions, removal actions and domain name disputes.
- Portfolio management, including coordination of foreign and International Registration filings, prosecution and maintenance of foreign trade marks and strategic filing advice.
- Manage and negotiate coexistence and licensing agreements.
- Enforcement advice, including infringement and misleading and deceptive conduct advice.

About you
You will have:
- Experience as a registered Trade Mark attorney within an attorney or law firm practice (we are also open to a combination of private practice and in-house experience).
- A Trade Mark Attorney registration (or be eligible to be registered as a trade mark attorney).
- Demonstrated experience in working exclusively or principally in relation to trade mark matters.
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal.
- A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others.
