About the role
As ATB’s next Analyst III, Operations Processing, you play an important role in providing expert support to our advisory team, and ensuring all day to day activities of the Trade management team are carried out effectively and on time.
Reporting to the Manager, Operations Processing, you will provide primary support to partners in ATB Wealth with executing complex trade instructions, trade settlements and reconciling internal trading accounts. The Analyst III must independently and effectively manage time while monitoring multiple queues ensuring team resources are reallocated to meet Service Level Agreements and adherence to regulatory controls. The Analyst III is the primary point of contact on the Trading Team and is accountable for all rush or escalation requests.
Accountabilities
- Accurately interpret and investigate requests from multiple sources, multiple channels and systems, assess risk to ATB and resolve the incoming requests, effectively communicating the result to the requestor in a professional manner
- Ability to collaborate with ATB Wealth partners across various platforms to provide on the spot coaching/advice if any issues are identified specific to a request
- Responsible for completing day to day functions including trade execution and settlement with external vendors such as Mutual Fund Companies, Fundserv, CDS and other trade counter parties
- Effectively reconcile trading outages and take appropriate action to balance the trading accounts
- Recognize when it is right to bring in a Specialist to support a risk decision
- Ability to work with minimal guidance in understanding securities regulations and internal policies
- Provide training and ongoing support during the onboarding process for new team members
- Leverage existing knowledge of the wealth management industry to identify gaps in processing and service levels and make recommendations for process improvements
- Represent the team to participate in projects
- Prepare and review internal processing guides and job aids
- Comfortable in utilizing technology to help manage and efficiently deliver client solutions.
- High level understanding of KYP, KYC Accurately process requests that come through various queues, demonstrate ability to be agile in processing a variety of requests that come through various platforms
Skills, experience & requirements
Accreditations & Education:
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course will be an asset
- Post secondary education or diploma preferred
Core Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of investment markets (stocks, fixed income and Mutual funds); including trading and settlement processes
- Experience within the Securities Industry or CIRO licensed firm
- Strong technical proficiencies, including using Google Workspace programs and ability to quickly learn various other programs related to the Investment Industry
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize requests and working within limited time frames
- Excellent communication, both verbal, written and through video conferencing and listening skills with both internal and external partners. Previous client service experience is beneficial
