Description:

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
- Demonstrable experience of quantitative modelling techniques is required with the ability to create complex financial models;
- Extensive statistical analysis and database experience;
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; knowledge and experience working with technologies such as Python, VBA, C#, C++
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop new models, analyse emerging market trends, and assist in the prioritisation of the team’s tasks;
- Utilise most appropriate technologies and innovative tools to enable refinement of trading strategies and support data-driven decision-making;
- Provide coaching, mentoring and support to other members of the team and wider in-house development community;
- Develop and maintain in-house tools to help the trading teams conduct profitable trading activity;
- Develop and maintain data flows in and out of the database;
- Develop and maintain reporting capabilities e.g. P&L, VaR;
- Design, develop and maintain new extensions/features;
- Azure build and release pipelines;
- Development of models to value Virtual Power plants, Demand side response and other relevant assets;
- Development and application of in-house fundamental power and gas models;
- Automate Trading tools, systems and methodologies across the Trading group;
- Development of in-house models that support the wider Trading Group objectives;
- Support the development and improvement of models to create gas and power forward curves down to a Half hourly level;
- Management of Trading data and access for analysis/decisions by Trading group including the development of visualization tools;
- Supports the development and maintenance of internal and external facing online portals;
- Provision of bespoke analysis to the trading group as requested;
- Ensure that information security policies and procedures are adhered to.
