Title: Traditional Wellness Coordinator
Salary: $86,778 - $102,091 - $117,405 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Term - 6 months (with a possibility of extension)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Mon-Fri (core hours 9am-3pm)
Location: Park Royal Office, West Vancouver located on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
Responsibilities:
Join our team as a Traditional Wellness Coordinator and play a key role in promoting holistic health and cultural practices! In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for developing and managing an integrated traditional wellness program aligned with regional health plans. You’ll build a network of traditional wellness workers, establish an advisory group with local knowledge keepers, and collaborate with First Nations communities to develop a traditional wellness strategy. As a key contact during crises, you’ll ensure cultural protocols are respected and provide guidance on traditional knowledge and practices to enhance community wellness. To be successful in this role you will have:
- A minimum of diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred), with demonstrated coursework in First Nations studies
- 5 years of significant, recent, and relevant lived experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience,
- Experience in the regional health authority systems/services/services, and in particular working with First Nations individuals, communities or organizations on issues related to health and wellness.
- Experience coordinating and delivering traditional wellness/medicine within community.
