QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed professional engineer with six to ten years of professional transportation design, traffic engineering and/or planning experience, preferably in a consultant role.
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, traffic or civil engineering. A master’s degree in engineering or planning is a plus.
- The following professional certifications: Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).
Responsibilities:
- Project management of transportation engineering and planning projects.
- Independent work with minimal supervision and exercising sound professional judgment.
- Develop, design and coordinate street, intersection, highway and interchange projects, including problem identification, data collection, analysis and interpretation, development of recommendations and cost estimating.
- Conduct technical studies and prepare reports that present findings and recommendations including text, tables, maps, charts, photos and other appropriate graphics.
- Assist Transportation Planning Staff in conducting transportation, corridor and access management plans and studies, including data collection and analysis, problem identification, examination of alternatives, concept development, design and policy recommendations, and implementation strategies.
- Use appropriate engineering and planning software in analysis, evaluation and design.
- Collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines including Engineers, Planners, Architects and Landscape Architects.
- Coordinate closely with Clients, Project Teams, Subconsultants and Technical Committees as needed to ensure project success.
- Make presentations to Clients, Elected Officials, Technical Committees and the Public.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing activities including scoping, scheduling, project approach development and fee proposals.
