Join the Downer Canterbury Traffic Team as a Traffic Management Supervisor where you will work to ensure the safety of public road users and your team as they undertake civil construction and road maintenance works, by giving clear and accurate direction of traffic.

You’ll be someone who can lead the frontline and be responsible for ensuring that a positive, Zero Harm culture is maintained. You will also:

  • Be involved in planning, organising, directing, and controlling activities and operations of crews to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of customers and all targets (productivity, quality, and safety) are met.
  • Deliver the programme required ensuring all Health and Safety legislative requirements are met.
  • Provide the necessary direction and leadership to the Operational Traffic Management teams in the Canterbury region.

This is a permanent, Full Time Traffic Management Supervisor position, based from our Christchurch depot.

NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS

You will have a can-do attitude, strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate your team. We’d also value:

  • Minimum Class 2 Full New Zealand Driver’s license (Forklift Endorsement with OSH highly desirable )
  • Proven leadership experience, specifically in Temporary Traffic Management operations and planning
  • In depth knowledge of the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM) and New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM)
  • Hold STMS ABC and/or equivalent unit standards
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with an ability to converse with staff and clients at all levels
  • Show commitment to our safety culture & safe work practisesProficient with computer skills
