Description:

Demonstrate your communication skills and put your emergency dispatch/radio systems experience to work in this opportunity with the West region Traffic Operations Office.

  • you are able to assess and implement appropriate services for traffic management

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • you have experience with incident and emergency response
  • you have knowledge of and experience in Advanced Traffic Management Systems
  • you have experience with emergency dispatch/radio systems
  • you have knowledge of freeway and highway maintenance and construction practices and procedures

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • you are proficient with computers and with software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database applications and browser based user interface

Responsibilities:

On a rotating shift basis in an office that provides services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you will:

  • manage traffic on provincial highways within the West region
  • improve traffic flow safety and efficiency by operating COMPASS, a two-way radio system with dispatch console and incident management systems
