Description:

TRAILER TECHNICIAN

Top Lift Enterprises is a leader in the sales and distribution of Heavy Equipment, Intermodal Container Handling and Industrial Forklift lines. We are currently looking for skilled Chassis/Trailer Technician to join our team. As a Trailer Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing trailers in railyards, ensuring they are safe through inspections and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection diagnosis and repair trailers, trailer frames electrical systems, landing gear assemblies and trailer bodies, suspensions systems, tires, wheels, hubs and axles, air and auxiliary systems, braking systems, roof repairs, hitching/coupling systems, as well as ventilation devices.
  • Thoroughly inspecting trailer mechanisms, ensuring that the trailer is safe and reliable for operations.
  • Preventative maintenance on trailer and mechanical parts.
  • Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems to identify problems.
  • Familiar with electronics, and able to read blueprints, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe facility, following company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Ability to perform repairs in different environmental settings, such as in repair shop or outside in the yard.
  • Ensure maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
