Vacancy: Trained Butcher with Counter Experience
Location: The Dairy, 5 Waterfall Road, Gleno, Larne, BT40 3LE
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours: 16 hours a week, including one weekend day
Rate: Competitive hourly rate (depending on experience)
We are looking for a skilled butcher with counter experience to join our team on a part-time basis. The success candidate will have a passion for high-quality meat products, strong customer service skills, and experience in retail or customer-facing environment. This is a varied role within a busy venue which requires both retail and butchery experience.

Requirements
- Experience: At least one year of experience as a butcher, ideally with experience in a customer-facing role or a retail butcher counter
- Skills: Proficient in various cuts of meat, handling of equipment, and maintaining counter displays
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focussed attitude
- Knowledge: Understanding of food safety regulations and general health and safety practices
- Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Meat Preparation: Skilfully preparing cuts of meat, poultry and other products to customer’s specifications.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and knowledgeable service, assisting customers with questions and recommendations
- Counter Management: Ensure the counter display is well-presented, fully stocked, and refreshed throughout the day
- Safety and Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the work area and follow food safety guidelines
- Stock Control: Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and ordering as needed to ensure fresh products are available and waste is kept to a minimum.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash and card transactions via EPOS, and assist with end-of-day reporting
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service
