Trainee Accountant

Reporting to the Investment and Reporting team lead and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Trainee Accountant will be strongly involved in ensuring the provision of timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, supporting the quarter end processes, regulatory returns, and internal Allianz Group reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on tasks across different areas within the Finance function
  • Working under different accounting regimes: IFRS, Solvency II / MVBS
  • Contributing to the monthly & quarterly closing process
  • Processing bookings in our accounting systems, in particular in SAP
  • Involved in treasury tasks: managing cash, banking and payment tasks
  • Supporting day to day operations e.g. fixed income portfolio accounting
  • Supporting the Solvency II regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland
  • Contributing to and providing input for the annual external audit
  • Involved in planning / forecasting

Qualification:

  • 3rd level college/university degree
  • Part qualified accountant progression through the ACCA/ACA
  • Experience working with excel to an intermediate level including managing and mining data using excel
  • Curious to expand own field of expertise

Experience & Skills:

  • Financial Services experience is an advantage
  • Self Starter willing to collaborate closely with colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Being open to learn and to challenge existing processes
