Description:

This is a trainee post which will include attendance at The University of Bolton to undertake 2 modules where you will learn the theory and practice behind Clinical Examination Skills and management of Minor Injuries whilst working alongside experienced ENP’s and Senior Clinicians. Once you have successfully completed these modules you will be supported in the completion of the Non-Medical Prescribers course linked to a local university provided by the Trust.
During your first year of this Trainee Post you will be paid as a Band 6 and be working in a supervised role growing your skills to become an autonomous practitioner. Once complete you will become a Band 7 ENP who will provide assessments and management of patients attending with a Minor Illness. As your knowledge and experience grows you will grow in your ability to support colleagues in the management of patients presenting the Emergency Department with Minor injuries and use your current knowledge to support the #TeamED in providing the excellent level of care that is expected of us. As part of this role, you will provide health education to your patients and liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, both within the ED (Emergency Departments) and outside.
You will be pivotal in helping grow the service provided to patients within the emergency department and may have opportunity to further progress within your career.
Being part of our amazing team in the Emergency Departments #TeamED will be fantastic enough… but we are also offering an amazing opportunity for an experienced Emergency Department nurse to progress in their career by taking on a Trainee Emergency Nurse Practitioner role.
If you have a keen interest in providing excellent care to patients attending the Emergency Department with Minor Injuries and the willingness to undertake a training programme to become an ENP– we want you! You will play a pivotal role in supplying an excellent Minor Injury Service and improving patient experience (even when it is incredibly busy) delivering the best care to our patients from the start. Sound like a challenge you can rise to?
Who wouldn’t want to be part of something new and exciting? In our Emergency Department at Chorley District Hospital that is exactly what is on offer, with this new training role. You will work with the existing experienced team to grow a bigger service to our population.
Your passion for what you do and strong interpersonal skills will help you embrace and enhance the Emergency Nursing challenges that come your way. We love making a difference and we are looking forward to working together with you to build on the existing team to grow our work family. You will gain the reward of making a patient’s journey enjoyable and successful, quite frankly….we think that’s what we do best.
This is an opportunity to join an already fabulous team and make it even more fabulous. The Emergency Departments across Lancashire Teaching Hospitals see approximately 124,000 patients a year across both sites.
It’s all about #TeamED here and we are so proud of this – our colleagues feel like family so it’s a pleasure to work with them every day. Our Team consists of, Advanced Nurse Clinicians, Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Consultants, Trauma Technicians, Emergency Nurses and our fabulous Senior Healthcare Assistants who support us all the way.
We are a forward-thinking department with a real emphasis on staff development and training and need your skills to enhance our already amazing team.
