SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in the water industry is preferable
- Previous experience working in an estimating function desired but not essential
- Civil engineering/Utilities experience essential
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel, programming and other estimating software
- An ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
- The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement, and influence change

ABOUT THE ROLE
Morrisons Water Services are recruiting for a Trainee Estimator to work on our Caledonia Water Alliance contract in Stepps, Glasgow.
Caledonia Water Alliance will successfully and safely work with Scottish Water to deliver SR21, a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure capital investment programme for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
AS THE TRAINEE ESTIMATOR YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Work under the guidance of an Estimator to fully develop the experience and skills required
- Support project team throughout project life cycles from early stage to close out
- Ensure Target pricing is developed sufficiently and effectively between CWA & Scottish Water while maintaining key milestones
- Review full estimating handover package ensuring all information is extensively reviewed and estimate fully detailed to meet CWA/ Scottish Water standards
- Requirement to engage supply chain for project enquiries, reviewing returned tender submissions
- Ensure all projects are submitted in line with framework and NEC contract
- Ensure collaboration with each CWA support function throughout project life cycle ensuring all project specifics are captured
- Present estimating proposed figures to management for final approval noting any comments and required adjustments
