Trainee Field Technician SOCOTEC, Newcastle
To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Infrastructure division. SOCOTEC is the UK’s largest independent construction materials testing division, delivering seven million tests a year to more than 5,000 clients either in our laboratories or on-site. SOCOTEC offers the widest range of testing, inspection and certification services in the UK. Our sampling and testing methods are based upon current British and European standards and are accredited by UKAS.

We’re looking for a enthusiastic individual to carry out the below responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting field tests on construction materials, such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Support the preparation and collection of material samples for testing.
• Learn to safely operate field testing equipment.
• Document and record test results accurately according to established protocols.
• Observe and collaborate with experienced technicians and engineers during site inspections and testing.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols while working on construction sites.
• Participate in training sessions to develop skills and knowledge related to materials testing and quality assurance.
