Description:
BDO Wealth Advisers (www.bdowealth.co.za) has an opportunity for Financial Planning Post Graduate / Honours students to join the BDO Financial Planner Trainee programme, towards becoming a CFP® Professional.
The Traineeship is a 2-year contracted position and subject to performance and the achievement of the FPI PCE Board Exam.
What this traineeship offers:
- This program offers a comprehensive training and development experience, providing exposure to various system platforms, life skills, and practical case studies. Participants will also gain valuable technical and practical knowledge from an FPI Approved Professional Practice, guided by a team of senior Financial Planners and Para-planners.
- Exposure to client meetings and events.
- Additional project work and associated functions to further expand your knowledge & skills within the profession and corporate world.
Minimum Requirements to apply:
- B.Com (Honours) in Financial Planning or equivalent.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (If Honours have not been obtained).
- Students in process of completing their academic qualifications during 2024 may also apply, but proof of final passing of the Honours or Post Graduate qualification will be required by December 2024 to be considered for the contract traineeship.
- Willing to work towards sitting and passing the FPI Board exam for admittance to the CFP®designation (this is a compulsory contractual requirement).
- Prepared to study for and pass the FAIS Regulatory Exam 5 for Representatives.Measurement of Performance:
- Demonstrates a strong ambition to become a Financial Planner and understands the demands of building a career in this challenging profession.
- Possesses solid knowledge of the Financial Planning Industry, including financial products, planning concepts, investments, taxation, and general financial analysis.
- Capable of effectively managing workload and meeting the expectations set by the assigned Financial Planners.
- Maintains a work ethic that prioritizes accuracy and adherence to specified turnaround times.
- Commits to completing academic requirements within the contracted 2-year period.
