Overview:
The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a dedicated Trainee HR Employee Relations Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will support the HR team in delivering a high-quality, consistent, and responsive HR service that meets customer needs and aligns with the Council’s objectives. Your responsibilities will span all areas of the HR remit.
As a Trainee HR Employee Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in transforming our HR service. You will ensure it provides highly effective, outcome-focused, and proactive support to our customers.
You will also serve as the first point of contact for customers within the People Management team, offering guidance and assistance as needed.

Who we are looking for:
- Experience of advising on employee relations issues in a timely and consistent way in a large organisation.
- Experience of planning and managing and administering a mixed and varied workload of conflicting priorities responding effectively to the needs of all customers.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Good planning and organisational skills coupled with a strong focus on the delivery of the objective.
- Creative and innovative in finding solutions to complex problems.
- Knowledge, awareness and understanding of the public sector, including understanding the key drivers for change.
- Able to work as a team player and contribute to the broader OD & HR agenda.
- Understanding in the current thinking about people leadership, people management and organisational change.
Qualifications:
- CIPD or equivalent professional body qualified or relevant work experience.
- Evidence of CPD.
