Description:

We are currently looking for two highly motivated and ambitious people to join the Non Invasive Technical Cardiology Team at NUH. This is a fantastic opportunity to enter the cardiac physiology profession where you will train in a range of cardiac diagnostics with a view to progressing to a career in echocardiography.
Informal visits are encouraged.
You will be supported to learn or further develop current skills in ECG, ambulatory monitoring, head up tilt testing and exercise stress testing.
You will work as part of the wider team supporting the cardiac physiologists and assistant technical officers to provide high quality diagnostic tests to our patients.
You will be supported to undertake a training programme to facilitate you to become a qualified cardiac physiologist specialising in echocardiography.
The training programme offered will depend on the successful applicants current level of training and education and will be fully funded. The department is an accredited training provider for the National School of Healthcare Science and our current trainees are about to embark on the post graduate Echo Training programme. Alternatively, candidates have the opportunity to gain a degree level qualification for example the NHS Practioner Training Programme.
With over 19,000 staff, we are one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local population. We play a leading role in research, education and innovation.
Come and join our wonderful team at NUH. We are big believers in diversity and welcome new ideas to help develop our team in order to deliver world class healthcare to the vast patient populations we serve. With endless personal development opportunities available, at NUH we will endeavour to turn your job into a career!
We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, or Disabled, as we are striving to be better represented at NUH.
Undertake a range of non invasive clinical investigations as appropriate to the role and level of training.
Interpret and act upon the results of investigations in accordance with departmental procedures.
Support colleagues in the delivery of high quality care.
Perform basic administrative duties to assist with the smooth running of the department.
Complete an agreed training programme to progress to become a qualified cardiac physiologist and complete BSE level 2 accreditation. This will require the successful candidate to attend an external education institute and will very likely involve travel and potentially block week stays
