Description:

This is a superb opportunity to get into an early-stage technical role in an environment where there will be excellent training and good career progression opportunities. Based in our office in Fleet (Hampshire), the role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a technical or engineering education or some basic experience in a technical role to take the next step on the career ladder. It would suit a recent engineering graduate - though we will consider people from a variety of backgrounds.
Among Checkit’s core products are smart sensors that monitor things like temperature, water flow or air quality, and send alerts to our central hub if readings fall outside expected boundaries. This helps our customers to ensure that critical systems are working as expected, and to know quickly if something is wrong so they can fix it before it becomes a problem. We help the NHS keep things like blood products and vaccines at the correct temperature by monitoring their storage fridges, and we help food retailers to reduce waste by monitoring refrigerated display cabinets in their stores.
The role reports into the Team Leader – Internal Service Delivery and is one of a team of two. This role is key to successful customer installations and the ongoing optimal operation of Checkit sensors, systems and equipment. You’ll support customers by ensuring that all installed sensors are performing to the correct standards before handover to the customer, via a testing process. You’ll conduct checks, record test data, complete documentation and validate that everything is ready for handover to customers ahead of going live.
As well as some sort of technical background, we’re looking for someone motivated, ambitious and keen to advance their career, who is a quick learner, has strong attention to detail and an interest in working with technical products and services. The role is largely based onsite at our office in Fleet, Hampshire, so you must be able to commute there on a daily basis.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the Operational Qualification (OQ) process for Checkit temperature sensor installation, which involves ensuring that all installed sensors are performing to the correct standards before handover to the customer, via a testing process.
  • Checking that sensors perform to the required specification during the test period.
  • Validating and recording test data, creating and maintaining records throughout the process.
  • Ensuring that all documentation has been correctly signed off by both the Field Service Engineer and the customer at the installation.
  • Maintaining the master project site schedules, ensuring these are regularly updated.
  • Ensuring the alarm contacts list has been received from the customer and all records are up to date.
  • Undertaking the required 7-day process for Checkit temperature sensor monitoring systems.
  • Building strong working relationships with customers and resolving any customer issues raised.
  • Evolving the OQ process to be more streamlined and efficient, by challenging the status quo.
  • Developing and managing a system to ensure all issues that require customer input are checked and resolved promptly.
  • Assisting with ISO Audits, demonstrating the OQ process and providing evidence that the records are properly maintained and filed.
  • Being involved in the review sign off of Calibration Certification.
  • Ensuring that Checkit’s ISO quality standard (9001) and other compliance standards including Information Security (27001) are continually maintained and adhered to.

What we’re looking for

  • No specific experience is required as full training will be provided, however an engineering qualification and/or any experience in a technical or engineering role of some sort would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with an accurate and meticulous approach to record keeping.
  • The ability to quickly understand and internalise technical information and concepts is important, as the ability to learn and understand technical processes.
  • Good general IT skills, familiar with MS Office suite and Outlook, with the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and constantly improve knowledge and understanding.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Solid experience of working to tight timescales and deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Motivated by completing work to a high standard and seeing a job through to completion.Able to work daily in the Fleet office.

  • What’s in it for you

You’ll receive our normal range of benefits, designed to give you the opportunity to learn and develop your skills, provide for your future, look after your routine healthcare, and feel protected if life throws you a curve ball. Our benefits include:
