GETTING TO KNOW YOU
The University of Lincoln offers two levels of academic training for PWPs: Undergraduate Practice Certificate (Level 6 for candidates who do not have a prior degree) and a Postgraduate Certificate (Level 7 for candidates who have a prior degree). Both these programmes are accredited by the British Psychological Society.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Please provide a supporting statement (1000 word maximum) outlining why you are applying for the TPWP role, outlining your skillset and how you will transfer these skills into the TPWP role.
- All shortlisted undergraduate candidates are required to submit a 1,000 word short report, addressing a question set by the programme team at the University of Lincoln. Candidates for the Level 6 programme will be required to pass this report at the undergraduate pass standard [40%].
- Candidates whose first language is not English will be required to have a recognised English language qualification achieved no more than two years prior to admission:
- A British Council IELTS overall minimum score of 7.5 with no element below 7.0, achieved no more than two years prior to admission.
- Pearson Test of English Academic 73 (minimum 67).
- CELE pre-sessional course final assessment of “Pass with High Distinction”.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
As a Talking Therapies partnership, we are looking for aspiring Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to join our Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies service as Trainee PWPs in the March 2025 cohort at the University of Lincoln.
In this role, you will provide Low Intensity CBT-based interventions whilst undertaking the PGCert Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner delivered by the University of Lincoln commencing in March 2025. This training post will equip you with the skills and knowledge to provide evidence-based treatment to clients with a range of common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
You will be joining a motivated team of mental health professionals and experienced supervisors, who will support you to complete both your academic study and your clinical delivery.
A typical working week includes 4 days of clinical practice with the service and 1 day attending university. University days will consist of face to face training so you must be able to attend in person each week.
Whilst your clinical practice is likely to include some remote working, you will be required to attend one of the Nottingham offices for part of the week.
