Description:
In this role, you will work with the Head of Cat R&D to design, lead and undertake bespoke project work to further enhance our understanding / modelling of natural peril risks across all SCOR’s portfolios: This includes supporting Natural catastrophe model research and development activities, ensuring that new models are and existing models remain fit for use in pricing, capacity and capital management. During your traineeship, you will be assigned to specific tasks related to natural catastrophe models (e.g. development, documentation, reporting, solvency 2).
- You will dive into the fascinating world of global reinsurance and will meaningfully contribute to combining the art and science of risk to protect societies.
- You are part of an engaged and empowered team. You will contribute to the presentation of key results to both technical and executive committees.
- Higher University Degree (Master, PhD) in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or similar discipline.
- Experience with statistical tools and programming languages such as R or Python.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Good conceptual and analytical capabilities and the ability to approach tasks consistently, goal-oriented and independently.
- Excellent communication skills and command in English (fluency in either French or German is a plus).
