REQUIREMENTS



    • 2:1 or higher Scots Law or an accelerated Scots law degree

    • Have the ability to work in a fast paced, high turnover environment
    • Have strong communication skills, written and verbal
    • Have attention to detail and ability to multi-task

    Responsibilities:

    THE ROLE

    The Traineeship will be over a period of 2 years where you will start with your first seat in Group Actions.
    Our Group Actions team is dedicated to helping people across Scotland pursue justice through group litigation. We bring together individuals who have suffered similar harm or injury and assist them in joining forces to bring the legal claim against a common defendant. Our team handles a variety of complex cases, including personal injury, product liability, financial mis-selling, and consumer rights.
    Jones Whyte was one of only four firms in Scotland who successfully pursued a multi-million-pound group claim against Volkswagen in 2022, the first of its kind in Scotland.
    You will have the support of an Associate Solicitor and another Trainee Solicitor along with supervising Partner. The team has the assistance of a dedicated Legal Support team who will handle tasks such as mail and court dates.

    RESPONSIBILITIES



      • Liaising with and providing administration support for Solicitors and case handlers

      • Responding to enquiries (email, telephone and letters)
      • Providing continued communication throughout the process
      • Working with the online case management system, keeping records up to date
      • Prepare legal documentation
      • Dealing with client enquiries both face to face and via telephone
      • Dealing with emails from clients and other 3rd parties
