Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Trainee Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various practice areas, working closely with experienced solicitors and contributing to real cases from day one. This is your chance to develop your legal skills, build client relationships, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of our firm.
This opportunity offers in the first instance a Paralegal role for 12 months and if successful a Trainee contract for 18 months.
You will have the opportunity to be immersed into different seats during the training contract, meaning that presence on site at our Manchester and Sales offices throughout the week is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Attend client meetings and court hearings, providing support to senior solicitors.
  • Undertake certain elements of fee-earning work under supervision but not as a designated matter handler.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Contribute to business development activities and client engagement initiatives.
  • To provide cost effective administrative and secretarial support fee-earners in the department.
  • Carrying out research and drafting documents for the partner and other senior fee-earners in the team in the work of the department
  • Undertaking certain elements of fee-earning work and to conduct proceedings and transactions under the supervision of a qualified solicitor, but not as a designated matter handler
  • Attaining a level of competence to SRA and Practical Skills standards working towards qualification as a solicitor
