Your team
You will be part of the Employee Services Division in the Directorate General Human Resources. The Division provides integration, health and well-being services, as well as processing salaries, rewards, allowances and pensions. In addition to assisting more than 4,000 employees throughout their ECB careers and beyond, we support the development and implementation of human resources systems at the ECB and deliver state-of-the-art human resources analytics. We are constantly reviewing our processes in order to streamline them and make them more customer-centric.
We are looking for trainees for the Pension and Insurance Services teams. You will work as part of the team on various processes and initiatives, gaining insight into working in human resources and the functioning of the ECB.

Your role

As a trainee, you will:

  • process members’ investment transactions;
  • prepare data and graphics for the reports to the Pension Fund Investment Committee;
  • interact with Accounting and the external custodian on operational matters;
  • assist in preparing monthly financial statements, data transfers and the membership report;
  • provide support in testing improvements to the self-service apps;
  • communicate with members on pension and insurance issues.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential:

  • a bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources management, business administration, employment and/or industrial relations, social or organisational psychology, accounting, law (preferably EU employment and social security law), business information systems, computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, business analytics or another relevant discipline;
  • excellent analytical and conceptual skills, and an interest in complex technical content;
  • very good knowledge of the MS Office package;
  • an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired:

  • a qualification in human resources;
  • a good understanding of data and sound data processing skills;
  • practical experience of using human resources IT solutions;
  • knowledge of one or more of the SAP Human Capital Management modules.

Initial traineeship of six months, with the possibility of an extension to up to 12 months in total.
