Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Trainer, Business Services, to develop and deliver training programs that prepare employees to effectively install, maintain, and service eyecare technology and equipment. In addition to technical training, this role will focus on enhancing employees’ communication and customer service skills when interacting with doctors and their staff in clinical settings.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for creating structured learning pathways for existing employees, supporting their growth through skill-building in technical knowledge, emotional intelligence, and customer-facing best practices. This is a remote position, but it requires 50%+ travel to provide in-person training at various locations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Engineering, Healthcare, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or a service-related role within eyecare, healthcare, or medical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of optical and clinical equipment, service operations, and customer interaction best practices.
- Experience training employees on both technical skills and professional communication in service roles.
- Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) for delivering training content.
- Proficiency in training software, multimedia tools, and other instructional technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training initiatives.
- Ability to travel 50%+ of the time for on-site training sessions
Work Environment & Requirements:
- Remote position with extensive travel required for in-person training mostly based in the US but could require international travel to our suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality training deliverables.
- Comfortable working in corporate and clinical settings, training employees on technical service and customer interaction skills

Responsibilities:
Training Development & Delivery
- Design and deliver training programs on eyecare technology, equipment, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
- Provide guidance on effective communication and professional interactions with doctors and their staff while servicing equipment.
- Conduct both virtual and in-person training sessions, adapting content to different experience levels and learning styles.
- Ensure training aligns with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
Pathways Development & Employee Growth
- Develop structured learning pathways to support employees’ career development in both technical and customer-facing roles.
- Create certification programs or tiered training structures to measure employee growth and skill progression.
- Work with leadership and HR to identify skills gaps and tailor training initiatives accordingly.
Instructional Design & Content Creation
- Develop high-quality training materials, including manuals, instructional videos, e-learning modules, and interactive content.
- Implement and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other digital training platforms to enhance learning.
- Utilize modern instructional design methodologies to create engaging and effective training experiences.
Performance Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Assess employees’ technical proficiency and customer service skills through evaluations, certifications, and hands-on assessments.
- Gather feedback from employees and leadership to refine and enhance training programs.
- Stay current with eyecare industry advancements, emerging technologies, and customer service best practices.
- Work with suppliers to stay up-to-date on the most recent manuals and updates for equipment to ensure training content is accurate and current.
Training for Service Coordinator Team
- Provide specialized training for the service coordinator team, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support service operations and customer interactions.

Pay: $110,000.00 per year
