Description:

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario - Your Health Space (YHS) supports health care organizations across Ontario to improve mental health in the workplace through live workshops and self-directed modules. YHS embraces the holistic view that psychological health and safety in the workplace takes the collective effort of employees across all levels of an organization. The YHS program is offered to leaders, health care workers, and support staff working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home and community care settings. Through this program, health care workers can learn to recognize and manage symptoms of chronic workplace stress and connect with colleagues through facilitated discussions.

JOB SUMMARY

CMHA Ontario is seeking three (3) experienced Trainers to deliver our Your Health Space program to practitioners and leaders in Ontario. The Trainer position is currently available as a full-time special funded temporary contract, starting immediately and ending on June 30, 2025. Incumbents will report to the YHS’ Senior Manager, Learning and Development and comprise a team of trainers based in communities across the province focused on delivery of the program.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating on their own initiative, has experience working with senior leaders in the healthcare sector, can speak confidently on the topic of mental health, market workplace programming, and is comfortable delivering in-person training in controlled settings.

We are currently looking for candidates for the following Ontario Regions:

  • Western Ontario – 2 Positions
  • Greater Toronto Area – 1 Position

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the Health Care sector. Direct experience working in a hospital setting strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience training adult learners required.
  • Certification/designation in a relevant healthcare field (e.g., RN, RP, RPN, BSW, MSW, PSW, SSW, CYC etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to deliver trainings effectively in English is required, and in French a strong asset.
  • Experience working in multi-sectoral partnerships and liaising with non-governmental organizations and government agencies required.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and/or facilitate large groups of 100+ participants, both virtually and in-person.
  • Experience delivering curricula related to mental health and addictions (preferred)
  • Familiarity with key concepts of mental health promotion, workplace mental health, health equity, and social determinants of health an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the mental health and addictions sector, workplace mental health, and the Z1003 National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace preferred.
  • Highly strategic thinker with strong leadership skills.
  • Well-developed administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively prioritizes and manages workload to meet competing deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including strong writing, editing, and presentation skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience applying judgment, initiative, and discretion when dealing with confidential, legal, and/or sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook), database management, and email software.
  • G Class license required.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers Your Health Space programming to healthcare organizations across the province of Ontario and through formats that include in-person training, and virtual webinars/workshops.
  • Assists in curriculum improvements based on feedback from client and participant evaluations.
  • Develops and maintains new and existing partnerships with healthcare organizations.
  • Implements and monitors quality assurance measures, including evaluation practices, with support from internal specialists.
  • Responds to client and training requests.
  • Keeps accessibility and inclusivity at the forefront of workshop delivery.
  • Maintains accurate records of client contact utilizing a Smartsheet database.
  • Reports training activities to the Senior Manager, Learning and Development.
  • Attends regular meetings and training opportunities with the Your Health Space and CMHA Ontario teams.
