Description:

The SFFA is looking for someone to join our team as we expand our roles in order to better support Foster Families and other caregivers across the province. Our provincial team works from our office in Saskatoon, collaborating with the Ministry of Social Services and other Family and Child Service organizations all over Saskatchewan. We are a highly collaborative team, and we pride ourselves on providing the support each employee needs to best fulfill their job requirements.

Under the direction of the Executive Director (ED) and Training and Advocacy Team Lead, the Training Assistant is responsible to be the primary contact for training offered by the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA). They are responsible for the coordination of First Aid Training, FASD Training, Trauma Training, and any other trainings offered by the SFFA. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Managing all inquiries regarding training offered by the SFFA
  • Drafting and responding to emails, phone calls and website messages related to training.
  • Providing training participants with necessary handouts and materials for online /virtual training
  • Researching and coordinate monthly virtual training sessions that would be beneficial for foster families
  • Tracking the statistical records for coordinated trainings to gather and formulate monthly and quarterly stats for training activities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of one-year administrative experience required
  • High level of professionalism, reliability, and strong adherence to confidentiality of secured materials and information
  • Excellent level of English communication skills (verbal and business writing), including the ability to communicate well under pressure
  • Proven competencies in software applications and programs, particularly Microsoft Office Professional (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team and with a willingness to take on tasks as needed
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and workload within limited timeframes
  • Must provide current Criminal Record Check
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License

Salary will be based on the experience, skills, education, and performance of the successful candidate during the Interview.
