Job Description

Are you an expert in sensor and tactical systems with a passion for training? We are seeking a skilled Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting training task analysis, designing comprehensive training programs, developing support materials, preparing both theoretical lessons and practical exercises, and providing subject matter expertise. Your experience with the operation, maintenance, and employment of sensor and tactical systems for Naval programs will be critical to your success in this role.

  • Perform and document comprehensive Training Task Analyses to define training requirements;
  • Define Performance Objectives (PO), conditions, and standards;
  • Plan and design tests for student achievement based on requirements of the defined POs;
  • Design training curricula to the enabling objective (EO) and teaching point (TP) level;
  • Prepare lesson plan outlines, storyboards and supporting instructional material;
  • Support the definition of design requirements for training simulators;
  • Develop and execute shipboard Set To Work procedures for the equipment we provide to the customer;
  • Perform Verification and Validation activities including development of test plans and procedures and executing tests to ensure compliance to our program requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as an instructor at a Naval school
  • Experience as an operator and maintainer of sensor or tactical systems is an Asset
  • Experience in the development, implementation, and delivery of operations and maintenance training in a military context
  • Experience in the development of practical training exercises for military training
  • Familiarity with systems-based training development
  • Familiarity with Naval operations and support
  • Strong experience in ship operations, maintenance, and modification
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) and systems approach to training
  • Experience developing Performance Objectives (PO) and Enabling Objectives (EO) as a component of a systems approach to training
  • Familiarity with the Qualification Standards (QS) for Naval maintainers
  • Experience with ship equipment installation activities
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
