Description:

The Training and Communications Coordinator (Emissions) is a key role within the TMH Regulatory Compliance Group who will be essential in supporting critical learning and development requirements for compliance with U.S. environmental laws and regulations, with a focus on emissions compliance. This individual will be responsible for the coordination with internal and external SMEs and stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage training programs in the area of environmental regulatory compliance, as well as the coordination of relevant communications both within the Regulatory Compliance Group and with other Toyota Companies groups. This role serves to ensure that employees involved in relevant processes are well-informed and equipped to comply with the relevant U.S., including California, environmental laws and regulations with a focus on emissions (EPA and CARB), thus contributing to the overall environmental sustainability and compliance goals of the company.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and training administration skills (analytical, verbal, and written) and a passion for educating and engaging employees on key emissions compliance matters. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, dynamic, and an experienced professional with a strong background in learning and development, effective communications, and stakeholder management as well as an understanding of the relevance and importance of emissions-related laws and regulations. This role requires expertise in developing, executing, and tracking engaging and effective training and communications programs.

Responsibilities:

. Demonstrate ongoing commitment and understanding of applicable regulations, with a focus on emissions compliance, and related training and communications requirements.
. Work closely within TMH’s Regulatory Compliance Group and with other Regulatory compliance groups within Toyota Companies to identify and address any training or communication gaps.
. Collaborate with the North America Compliance group to ensure alignment around training and communication strategies and execution.
. Evaluate emissions compliance-related training requirements for relevant employees (based on the overall compliance objectives and annual compliance plan of the Company) and prepare TMH’s annual emissions compliance training plan accordingly.
. Design engaging and effective compliance training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and other instructional resources on applicable regulations and related company policies and processes concerning emissions compliance.
. Coordinate with internal TMH and TICO subject matter experts to ensure that training materials are accurate and up to date on a regular basis.
. Utilize sophisticated adult learning theories to develop and implement innovative strategies driving meaningful learning outcomes
. Own and continually refine the strategy and timeline for regulatory compliance training.
. Facilitate, manage, and track trainings in a training platform or Learning Management System (“LMS”)
. Analyze the learning management system to identify potential areas for process enhancement and quality refinement, contributing insights and recommendations to drive ongoing improvement initiatives
. Device modes of assessments, monitor and periodically assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
. Track completion by employees, escalating non-completions as needed.
. Coordinate with TMH HR and TINA to timely deploy compliance training courses from TMH’s learning management system to employees to ensure that they understand regulatory requirements, policies/procedures, consequences of breach of policies/procedures and when and how to report compliance issues or non-compliance.
. Support leaders and other trainers to provide in-person training (when appropriate and necessary) and track attendance.
. Understand the Learning & Development requirements to train new hires and transfers, and to adequately upskill existing employees, and develop and deploy trainings accordingly.
. Report training KPIs and metrics to Regulatory Compliance Group leadership, North America Compliance Group leadership, and Company leadership as appropriate.
. Audit existing eLearning and instructor-led courses and content to identify improvement opportunities to enhance end user experience and engagement.
. Develop and implement communications strategies to ensure that all employees both within TMH’s Regulatory Compliance Group and with other Toyota Companies groups are informed about relevant regulations and related updates concerning emissions compliance.
. Facilitate open and effective communication between and among stakeholders such as TMH leadership, subject matter experts, the Regulatory Compliance Group, and the North America Compliance group, as needed.
. Create informative communication materials, such as newsletters, email footer messages, updates on intranet and other communication channels, to effectively convey emissions compliance-related information to employees.
. Develop and execute methods, along with others within the organization, to monitor the impact of communications initiatives.
. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
. Perform additional duties as assigned.
