QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ Years of experience in safety training, program development or coordination for industrial workers;
  • Knowledge in the automotive or facilities-service industries is considered an asset;
  • Availability to provide training to staff during shift times, including weekends as required;
  • Minimum High School level education;
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
  • Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to address a group;
  • Proficient with general computer use and typing;
  • Ability to commute to Woodstock, ON for work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead new-hire orientation training, including practical sessions and safety training;
  • Conduct new-hire site orientation walkthroughs;
  • Serve as a Certified Confined Space Trainer;
  • Act as Confined Space Coordinator and perform rescue functions as required;
  • Facilitate specialty training sessions (e.g., forklift, hoist, genie lift, fit tests, hearing tests);
  • Manage administrative tasks related to health and safety training, including uploading practical training records into the DSS+ platform;
  • Maintain safety tracking systems, boards, and programs to ensure compliance and readiness;
  • Conduct refresher training sessions as needed with workers;
  • Serve as a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) co-chair and provide support for meetings;
  • Participate in workplace inspections and Safety Observation Tours (SOTs) to ensure safety standards are met;
  • Other duties as assigned.
