The Training & Development Designer is a crucial player in the organization, responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for the organization. The Training and Development Designer must design course materials, training manuals, and online learning modules in partnership with the Learning Center of Excellence. The role focuses on enhancing team member skills, productivity, and overall performance to ensure that staff are well-equipped to meet the dynamic demands of their roles while aligning to with organizational goals.
This role reports to the Human Resources Director and is flex remote. This means that the T&D Designer is expected to be in the business (stores, distribution center, or corporate offices) as responsibilities necessitate but may work from home when appropriate. Travel 50%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the end-to-end design and development of curriculum and training materials tailored to meet the specific needs of the organization and its employees.
- Works closely with the Internal Communications Manager on SOP creation, adoption, and execution of trainings and the overall training calendar.
- Conducts a thorough assessment to identify the learning requirements of different departments and individuals.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure materials are relevant, necessary, and align with overall business objectives. Updates course curriculum to reflect changes in organizational direction, product offerings, latest trends, technology, and market demands.
- Leads train-the-trainer and training sessions, as appropriate, both in person and virtually.
- Oversees training calendar completion for team members to ensure delivered trainings are completed on time. Maintains accurate records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes. Requires retraining, as necessary.
- Collates, shares and encourages feedback from leaders in ongoing training materials and uses it to improve future training sessions or materials.
- Ensures all training programs comply with industry regulations and standards and are housed in the workforce management system.
- Uses the Learning Management System (LMS) and other available software to streamline training processes.
- Maintains own skills and knowledge through the offered train-the-trainers courses on new/revised curriculum and materials.
- Utilizes analysis of output to ensure all training KPIs trend favorably.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in retail, grocery is a plus
- 1-2 years of training and development experience is a plus, but not required
- 1-2 years of leadership experience is a plus, but not required
- Advanced in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in instructional design for designing effective training materials and programs
- Familiarity with LMS, e-learning platforms, and other training-related software

- Strong verbal and written communication skills for delivering clear and engaging training.
- The ability to analyze data from needs assessments, training feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines.
