Housing’s mission is to provide the best student experience through the development of thriving Residence communities, which engage our diverse student population in purposeful campus and community experiences, that lead to personal, civic and leadership development.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinates all aspects of training for Residence Staff, Client Services/Residence Operations staff, student leaders, and Residents’ Councils to ensure that all members are adequately prepared for their respective roles. Training programs are conducted throughout the year for the various groups.
Organizes training sessions for Residence Staff, student leaders and front desk operations staff
Supports the Director of Housing and the Associate Director Leadership Team in the development and organization of learning and training opportunities for their respective teams
Provides direction and support to the Administrative Coordinator to ensure logistics for training events are seamless
Manages and monitors a budget (approx. $150,000) with the Office of Residence Education and Programs to ensure budget compliance
Creates an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all employee and student learners.
Application of innovative approaches including computer-based communication and flexible learning technologies (OWL) to learning and development
Provides content for the on-line E-learning modules used by students and employees within the residence system.
Assists in the development and evaluation of joint programs for first-year students offered in conjunction with Student Experience, campus partners, and the University Students’ Council.
Leads all aspects (promotion, recruitment, interviews, reference checks and selection) of the Residence Staff Hiring process in collaboration with the Associate Director, Residence Life and the Housing Administrative Coordinator. Guides the Residence Life Management Team throughout the hiring process and consults Human Resources as necessary for support
Supports the performance feedback mechanisms for Residence Staff, Residence Managers and Residence Soph and prepares the data for Residence Life leadership team
