The Training Development and Performance Feedback Officer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance employee performance and development. This position involves collaborating with various faculties, departments to identify training needs and to develop tailored solutions that support the university’s mission and values, promotes social connection, personal growth, and team cohesion across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in training development and performance management
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and EDI (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) frameworks
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships across diverse teams and departments
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of the higher education sector is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and assessments in collaboration with department and faculty leaders
  • Design and facilitate engaging training programs and learning pathways that align with university goals and professional growth while fostering an inclusive and connected workplace culture, strengthening the sense of purpose and belonging for all team members
  • Develop and maintain a database of external and internal facilitators, ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise
  • Develop and implement performance feedback processes, including tools for effective evaluation and support for both leaders and employees
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of training initiatives and performance feedback strategies through data collection and evaluation methods
  • Ensure training materials and programs are accessible and inclusive for all staff
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to support onboarding programs, mentoring opportunities and professional development initiatives
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance management and employee development practices, helping them to foster an environment where staff feel connected, valued, and supported in achieving their full potential
  • Promote a culture of feedback and continuous improvement throughout the organization, encouraging open communication and the sharing of ideas that contribute to both individual growth and collective success
  • Stay updated on best practices in training, development, and performance management within the higher education sector
