Description:
JOB TITLE: TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT CO-ORDINATOR (GREEN SKILLS AND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY)
Salary: £35,131 - £39,004 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week. Evening and weekend work may be required depending on training schedules.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Training & Development Co-ordinator (Green Skills and Energy Technology) will be responsible for the development, delivery, and optimisation of training programs related to renewable energy and green technologies. The role involves curriculum development, training delivery, business development, and ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and quality standards. The successful candidate will play a key part in growing the training centre’s profile and offerings in the renewable energy sector.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES CANDIDATES MUST HAVE ON ENTERING THE ROLE:
- Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in an appropriate Plumbing/Gas discipline.
- CCN1 gas qualification and associated units, including commercial.
- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Assessors Award A1 or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Practical experience in the installation and maintenance of domestic electrical systems.
- Experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of domestic plumbing, heating, and gas systems.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to work up to 2 evenings per week and Saturdays, as required.
- Ability to travel independently and be prepared to travel as part of the role.
- Willingness to perform work-related duties both on campus and in external customer workplaces.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum Development & Optimisation:
- Develop and enhance training programs in renewable energy, plumbing, heating, and gas systems to meet market demand and income generation targets.
- Regularly review and update course content to align with industry developments.
- Training Delivery & Assessment:
- Deliver high-quality training and assessments in plumbing, gas, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.
- Ensure training sessions are aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- Business Development:
- Identify opportunities to expand and diversify the Centre’s training offerings in green energy fields and other relevant sectors.
- Collaborate with key industry stakeholders to ensure the training provision meets market needs.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, industry regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Adhere to internal and external guidelines set by awarding bodies.
- Budget Management & Efficiency:
- Effectively manage allocated budgets to ensure resources are used efficiently and training programs deliver financial results.
- Funding & Sponsorship:
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, preparing bids for external financial support.
- Seek sponsorship opportunities to enhance the Centre’s resources and profile.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote training courses and events.
- Represent the Centre at external events to raise awareness and attract new learners.
- Industry Liaison & Development:
- Build relationships with manufacturers, industry experts, and stakeholders to ensure training content is up-to-date and reflective of industry trends.
- Stay informed on developments in green technologies, energy systems, and renewable energy.
- Record Keeping & Administration:
- Maintain accurate records of training delivery, business development activities, and learner progress.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with awarding body requirements.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all training environments and activities meet relevant health and safety regulations, particularly in electrical, plumbing, and renewable energy systems.
