The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Child & Family Services Division.
The Training and Development Specialist supports the Training & Development Supervisor and Child and Family Services Division in keeping children safe and families strong by promoting training and development for staff. Key responsibilities include: 1) Collaborates with management to improve employee performance and enhance child welfare service delivery; 2) Presents training or facilitates training by other training professionals; and 3) Serves as a subject matter expert on trauma-informed best practices in child welfare.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

  • Knowledge, of child and family service programs and the child protection system
  • Knowledge of training principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of adult learning and e-learning.
  • Knowledge of organizational assessment methodologies.
  • Skill in researching and developing training curriculum and e-learning models.
  • Ability to make decisions that are aligned with the goals of the division.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in training, education, social work or related human service field.
  • Two years of training and development experience including professional work experience in child and family service programs, protective services or social work.
  • One year of adult learning and e-learning experience preferred.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
