Our Kingston branch portfolio has an excellent opportunity for an energetic individual who is passionate about training and facilitating the development of people in site staff roles. This is for someone who has excellent interpersonal, organizational and teaching skills and is experienced with Homestead’s policies and standard operating procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
  • Previous experience working as on-site apartment building staff a strong asset.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be creative and have the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be passionate and enthusiastic regarding the development of others.
  • Knowledge in the day to day functions of an apartment building including boilers, elevators, compactor rooms and swimming pools preferred.
  • A minimum of two years training experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in training methods and principles.
    A satisfactory reference check and criminal records clearance are required for the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the first day meet-and-greet and orientation of new building site staff (Superintendents, Building Managers, Cleaners etc.) including WHMIS and safe lifting techniques training.
  • Providing new staff with their orientation package, checklists, SOP manual and Health and Safety Training.
  • Working with the new staff on a pre-scheduled basis.
  • Train staff in minor plumbing and electrical work, general maintenance and housekeeping duties.
  • Participating in the branch Joint Health and Safety Committee and perform annual building inspections.
  • Conducting/facilitating in house seminars and workshops with existing staff.
