KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement the Pig Passport training programme for stockworkers.
  • Coach farm managers to deliver consistent, high-quality training.
  • Create and update SOP training materials with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct key training sessions, including new staff induction.
  • Maintain training records and matrices, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Track and improve L&D KPIs, ensuring timely completion.
  • Coordinate external/online training, working with Area Managers for cost-effective solutions.
  • Foster a continuous learning culture aligned with Sofina’s upskilling goals.
  • Ensure all training meets health, safety, and welfare standards.
  • Identify training improvements to boost staff skills and farm productivity.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in training and development, ideally in agriculture or pig farming.
  • Strong organisational skills for managing training schedules and records.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage staff and support farm managers as trainers.
  • Flexible, pragmatic, and responsive to evolving business needs.
  • Ability to inspire and lead by example, driving the adoption of the Pig Passport programme.
  • Exposure to pig farming and experience in a training lead role.

Responsibilities:

Are you experienced in designing and delivering impactful learning programmes with a passion for agriculture? We’re seeking an Agricultural Training Lead to develop our Pig Passport training programme, aimed at enhancing the skills of stockworkers in pig farming.
In this key role, you’ll drive the creation, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Pig Passport programme, including developing tailored content, coaching farm managers, and aligning training with industry standards. This is your chance to build a dynamic training programme from the ground up and promote a culture of continuous learning.
Primarily based in Elgin and Banff, with occasional travel.
£35,000 -£45,000
