Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Records, Registration & Reporting, the Transfer Credit Coordinator is responsible for processing transfer credit decisions and liaising with faculty, applicants, and students regarding transfer credit assessment.
This position is responsible for contributing to the success of CUE’s mission of providing lifelong learning opportunities to the students it serves, by supporting the recruitment and retention of students through facilitating course and program transfer arrangements for Concordia both as a sending and receiving institution.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered.
  • Previous related experience in a post-secondary Registrar’s Office or post-secondary institution is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cordial and personable working relationships with faculty, academic staff, and students throughout CUE and with other external agencies is essential.
  • Demonstrated superior customer service and interpersonal skills; tact, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Innovative when faced with challenges.
  • Ability to act decisively and to exercise initiative and judgment on a wide range of issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine, implement, and evaluate processes for internal and external course and program transfer in consultation with Chairs, Deans, and the Registrar. Processes must be in accordance with CUE policies and adhere to the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) guidelines.
  • Research, analyze, develop, and apply knowledge of the educational systems and institutions of Alberta and provide guidance in the area of course and program transfer at the undergraduate level.
  • Validate institutions for recognition status, according to CUE’s Transfer Credit Policy, and maintain grade conversion tables in SIS.
  • Ensure decisions concerning transfer credit eligibility are communicated in a timely fashion to both applicants and current students.
  • Provide information, guidance, and direction to Admission and Registration Advisors regarding domestic and international transfer credit and processes.
  • Train faculty and staff on transfer credit systems and processes.
  • Consult and collaborate regarding issues pertaining to the awarding of transfer credit with the Registrar, Associate Registrar, Admissions, and faculty members.
  • Coordinate and maintain an electronic database of internal and external transfers, recognizing that a large majority of in-province transfers will be maintained in the ACAT transfer database.
  • Act as an ACAT Contact Person for CUE and perform those duties as required of the position and as set out at the annual ACAT institutional meetings.
  • Review and authorize and/or set up transfer credit agreements as a sending and receiving institution. Review and authorize all notifications, changes, and terminations from all other post-secondary institutions in the ACAT system.
  • Manage all transfer credit inquiries/issues from other post-secondary institutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
