Description:

Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. To date we have worked with over a million merchant partners worldwide, connecting over 16 million customers with deals across various categories. In a world often dominated by e-commerce giants, we stand out as one of the few platforms uniquely committed to helping local businesses succeed on a performance basis.
Groupon is on a radical journey to transform our business with relentless pursuit of results. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. The impact here can be immediate due to our scale and the speed of our transformation. We’re a “best of both worlds” kind of company. We’re big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact.

ABOUT GROUPON

At Groupon, we believe in building a local marketplace where businesses and customers thrive. As we continue to evolve, our Transformation Team is focused on driving operational efficiency and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. If you’re looking to kickstart your career at a company that values innovation and excellence while making a tangible impact, we want you on our team!
We are seeking a part-time Transformation Analyst Intern to work on compliance and analytics related to time-tracking and capitalizable labor. You’ll be at the heart of key operational processes, ensuring our teams are compliant and everything is ready for accounting and reporting from a Product and Engineering perspective.

Responsibilities:

As part of Groupon’s Transformation Team, your role is vital in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of time-tracking and compliance operations. You’ll get hands-on experience in:

  • Coordinating timesheet timely submissions and ensuring compliance across teams.
  • Compiling and analyzing non-compliance reports, then communicating these to managers in a clear and friendly manner.
  • Analyzing time-tracking data to ensure accuracy and correct usage of capitalizable labor, providing key insights for decision-making, showing understanding of key financial concepts
  • Correcting and updating data to ensure alignment with compliance and accounting requirements.
  • Supporting month-end accounting closures, ensuring everything is in place from a Product and Engineering standpoint.
  • Collaborating across departments, learning how Product, Engineering, and Accounting intersect within a global organization like Groupon.
