We are seeking a translational data scientist to join out Biomarker and Patient Stratification Cluster. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the development and application of machine learning, statistical and computational approaches to address complex biological challenges. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new methodologies, are essential. The candidate is expected to lead and execute analytical projects and develop innovative approaches for the identification of novel therapeutic targets and the discovery of predictive biomarkers to support patient stratification and inform clinical development plans. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in computational biology, computer science, biostatistics, bioinformatics or a related quantitative science field with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, or MS in biostatistics, computer science or bioinformatics with 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in analysing omics data such as RNA-seq, GWAS, and/or conducting biomarker research
  • Develop and benchmark predictive algorithms to generate actionable biomarker hypotheses that supports clinical trial design
  • Expertise in analyzing gene expression data from platforms such as RNA-sequencing, microarray, NanoString, or qPCR
  • Proficient in analysing data with R/Bioconductor and/or Python, and working knowledge of Linux/cloud computing environment such as AWS
  • Strong interest in biology and immunological diseases, with the ability to collaborate effectively with scientists from Research and Translational Medicine to define and address biological questions with computational analyses

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in statistical modeling techniques including linear and non-linear regressions, dimensionality reduction, clustering analysis, and machine learning approaches such as SVM and Random Forest
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods such as Bayesian analysis and causal inference
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and a collaborative team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of computational and bench scientists, fostering an open exchange of feedback tp support personal and professional growth
  • Contribute to projects focused on Identifying candidate therapeutic targets and biomarkers for immune diseases by integrating high-throughput molecular profiling data with clinical phenotypes
  • Design and implement innovative computational approaches to decode complex immune conditions using multi-dimensional omics and clinical data
  • Utilize supervised and unsupervised methodologies to develop actionable biomarker hypothesis
  • Prepare publications, research reports, and clinical/regulatory documentation in alignment with the company’s quality standards
