Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Translational Research Navigator to join our dynamic team at the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), Biomedical Engineering (BME) Theme. This position is funded by the BRC and the BME Theme is co-led by Professor Anthony MJ Bull and Professor George Hanna.
The core mission of the BME Theme is to develop and translate cutting-edge biomedical engineering technologies into real-world clinical applications.
As a Translational Research Navigator, you will be involved in a variety of translational research projects within the Theme. Your responsibilities will include
- Identifying impact case studies and prepare reports as required.
- Navigating optimal clinical and/or commercial pathways to maximize the potential of emerging technologies,
- Managing assigned translational research projects.
You will work closely with the BRC Biomedical Theme Manager and engage with cross-faculty multidisciplinary project teams, gaining hands-on experience in project management, effective report writing, coordinating grant applications, assessing medtech efficacy, and ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and regulatory standards.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
- Identify impact case studies and prepare reports aligned with the Theme strategy, focusing on areas such as improving patient outcomes, reducing health inequalities, and conducting health and social care research.
- Act as a project manager for assigned projects, ensuring effective execution and delivery.
- Help establish intellectual property strategies and explore potential pathways for translational research projects as required.
- Assist with clinical regulatory strategies and contribute to the development of quality management system (QMS) documentation for assigned projects.
- Coordinate the submission of joint funding proposals as needed.
- Compile and analyse data while contributing to the preparation of progress reports, KPI reports, journal articles, and other materials as requested.
