Description:
THIS POSITION IS BEING HIRED BY NEVADA DONOR NETWORK, HOWEVER, THE INCUMBENT WILL SUPPORT THE NEVADA TRANSPLANT INSTITUTE (NTI) AND REPORT TO THE NTI TRANSPLANT ADMINISTRATOR.
Job Summary:
The Nevada Transplant Institute (NTI) administrative coordinator provides vital administrative support to the transplant multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include managing appointment schedules, coordinating patient communications, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in the organization of transplant-related activities. The role involves liaising with healthcare professionals, patients, and external agencies, ensuring the smooth flow of information and documentation and ensuring patient success in moving through the evaluation or waitlist process. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are key to supporting the overall efficiency of the transplant coordination process.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with transplant coordinators and follow up on all requests and action items.
- Send patient testing orders per protocols and follow up to ensure test results are received and sent to the registered nurse (RN) coordinators.
- Communicate with facility scheduling department for OR availability and scheduling.
- Send patient correspondence regarding upcoming appointments and instructions
- Working closely with RN Coordinators to ensure a smooth process for patients through transplant evaluation.
- Sends and monitors status of internal and external referrals.
- Maintains appropriate patient communication regarding workup status or appointments.
- Requests medical records for patient history and continuation of care.
- Check faxes and distribute faxes to the appropriate person/department.
- Scan all records into the patient’s chart in a timely manner.
- Send medical records including health and physical to dialysis centers, Nephrologists and any other medical provider for continuation of care when applicable.
- Manages all duties related to the licensing of medical providers.
- Provides support to the NTI board by scheduling meetings, taking minutes and updating board members per the direction of the board chair.
- Assist in answering office phones through the main line and routing calls to the appropriate person/department.
- Cover the front reception desk to greet guests and patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education:
- GED or High School Diploma
