Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Administrator to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transport activities by coordinating and managing all administrative aspects of transportation logistics. This role involves close collaboration with drivers, warehouse staff, and other departments to guarantee efficient and timely delivery of goods.
The Transport Administrator will undertake a variety of manufacturing duties, including but not limited to:
Scheduling and Planning:
- Plan and schedule transportation routes to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Coordinate the dispatch of vehicles and drivers.
- Ensure timely deliveries and collections.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, insurance, and inspections.
- Prepare and manage transportation documents, such as bills of lading, manifests, and invoices.
- Update and manage transportation databases and systems.
Communication:
- Liaise with drivers to provide instructions and respond to queries.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Work closely with the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate activities.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and enforce health and safety standards for drivers and vehicles.
- Keep up to date with changes in regulations affecting transport logistics.
Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on transport activities and performance metrics.
- Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
