THE OPPORTUNITY:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience successfully managing a road haulage operation with excellent results.
- Transport Manager CPC certificate advantageous (or equivalent knowledge).
- In-depth knowledge of tachograph rules and regulations—absolutely essential!
- Proven sales experience with a strong business acumen.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK and its road network.
- Leadership abilities with the charisma to inspire and motivate a team.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills at all levels.
- Goal-oriented with a proven track record of achieving targets.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A can-do attitude with a knack for identifying potential sales opportunities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with excellent time management.
- First-class communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office—Word, Excel, Outlook—and smartphone mobile apps.
- Reside within commuting distance to Rotherham and Doncaster.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire our team of drivers and office staff, ensuring top-notch performance and a harmonious work environment.
- Business Development: Channel your inner salesperson to forge new client relationships, negotiate transport rates, and secure both ad-hoc and regular work for our fleet.
- Operational Excellence: Optimise resource utilization, plan efficient operations, and ensure compliance with all Operator Licence regulations.
- Driver Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance of drivers, ensuring they adhere to company standards and legal requirements.
- Financial Oversight: Analyse costs, monitor profitability, and provide financial reports, cost analyses, and sales projections to the Managing Director.
- Customer Relations: Maintain open lines of communication with clients, ensuring their needs are met with transparency and efficiency.
