Description:
The role of the Transport Co-ordinator is the organisation of Drivers’ journey’s you will ensure that these are organised in the most client friendly and cost efficient manner so that drivers are always on time and have the correct equipment and paperwork.
The Transport Co-ordinator will ensure that each journey is within company guidelines in terms of distance and working hours. All journeys must be as cost effective as possible with the optimal level of coordination in terms of geography and timings
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Maintenance of Transport working hours – ensure that driving hours are adequate to fit the role and the daily runs, but all wastage of hours is eliminated where possible. Ensure that drivers’ hours are maintained within the law and in line with the Working Time Directive and UK/EU regulations
- Ensure adherence to vehicle maximum weight thresholds and ensure that provisions are made for the compliant carriage of any designated dangerous goods.
- Driver Communication – ensure that driver’s progress is monitored throughout the day and Operations are kept informed about any potential delays or service quality issues, investigate and resolve day to day problems effectively and in an appropriate timeline.
- Driver Attire – ensure this is maintained and provided within company guidelines and drivers adhere to this policy at all times
- Carry out driver de-briefs daily when required and report any issues to appropriate person
- Review Driver hours on a weekly basis, providing regular reports to the Transport Management Team.
- Organise sub-contraction of any collections or deliveries which cannot be performed in-house as and when required and update Biocair’s internal system Icair.
- Monitor, organise and schedule vehicle servicing and maintenance, manage the maintenance records including GPS & Temperature monitoring systems of all vehicles in the fleet, ensuring maintenance costs are kept to minimum
- Ensure that all Biocair/customer specific work instructions/SOP’s/procedures are always adhered to.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FULL TIME ROLE, 40 HOURS PER WEEK, MONDAY TO FRIDAY 10:00 TO 19:00 AND 1 WEEKEND A MONTH 08:00-12PM ON BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
This is a UK based role and the right to live and work in the UK will need to be established during the recruitment process. Please note we are not currently a Home Office visa sponsorship licence holder.
