QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCES AND SKILLS

Education: Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in transportation coordination or Logistics Management.
Two or more years of responsible related experience with knowledge of Kuwait Routes and handling location tracker/GPS etc.
Licensure: NA
Language: Proficiency in Arabic and English Languages
Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with transportation management systems and related software

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

Transport Coordinator will be responsible for efficiently managing and coordinating transportation activities within the organization. This role involves overseeing the transportation requirement and ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation solutions. The Transport Coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders, including drivers, suppliers, and internal departments, to streamline logistics processes and optimize transportation operations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Develop efficient and cost-effective transportation routes for the timely delivery of services.
  • Optimize routes to minimize fuel consumption, reduce transportation costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Communicate with drivers to ensure they have clear instructions and are aware of delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate the timely pickup and delivery of services, resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Schedule transportation services based on demand and operational requirements.
  • Dispatch vehicles and monitor their progress, making real-time adjustments as needed to address any delays or changes in plans.
  • Stay informed about transportation regulations and compliance standards, ensuring all operations adhere to legal requirements.
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
  • Address and resolve any transportation-related issues, including delays, damages, or customer complaints.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring problems and enhance overall service quality.
  • Utilize transportation management systems and other relevant technologies to streamline processes, track services, and generate reports
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and recommend the implementation of new technologies to improve efficiency
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with internal teams, external partners, and drivers to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Provide regular updates on transportation activities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations.
  • Implement performance improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned, to meet Departmental and Hospital goals and objectives.
  • Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
  • Provides or promotes People Centered Care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
