Food safety and quality is paramount to what we do and La Rousse Foods has been ISO 22000 accredited since 2009 and upgraded to FSSC 22000 in 2014. With our own butchery, cheese-maturing room and chocolate lab, La Rousse Foods can provide bespoke solutions at short notice to cater to our customers ever-changing needs. Our demonstration kitchen hosts workshops, discovery lunches as well as suppliers’ presentations and tastings.
As Transport Manager at La Rousse Foods, you are accountable for the operations of the transport department in accordance with budgetary constraints, legal compliance whilst achieving the best possible level of service to internal and external customers.
You will oversee direction and coordination of all transportation matters within the department ensuring that budgets are managed, schedules & routes are organised.
You will also ensure that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and that drivers are aware of their duties in line relation to standards.

Responsibilities:

Manage all areas of the transport department to achieve/exceed service level agreements to the highest standards
Control all department costs within agreed budgets and ensure all rotas are reviewed regularly and plans in place for key peak periods
Manage all areas the of transport department in an effective manner in order to deliver service excellence, goods to customers in the timescales required to maximise shift efficiency
Maintain all company equipment, including vehicles, to a high standard and to ensure all relevant records are maintained in order to conform to legislation
Manage the team of supervisors and drivers and ensure appraisals, people management and conduct issues are dealt with, and employees are appraised in line with performance standard
Ensure that all equipment is maintained to company standards and all damages are recorded and stored according to damage procedures.
Make sure that the department is operated with compliance to all company audit and legal standards, including Food Safety, Health & Safety and Internal Audits.
Deputise on behalf of Operations Manager during times of Holiday or absence, and for line managers as and when required and undertaken additional duties if necessary
5 days a week – Monday to Friday, plus 1 Saturday in 4
