Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In the Transport Operations Manager position, you’ll be responsible for managing the transport operational execution for our Kewdale facility to ensure carrier delivery service, cost and safety outcomes. This includes ownership of transport tasks, change strategy and execution, ensuring a smooth and functional introduction of new processes, systems and structures as well as effective change management of impacts on customers, operations, third-party logistics / 3PL partners and stakeholders.
As the Transport Operations Manager, you will manage the interaction between the Primary Connect Distribution centre operations and our 3PL partners, in terms of execution and resolution of issues through the Supply Chain.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Manage daily operational execution: oversee the transport planning function to optimise fleet utilisation, network efficiency and store service requirements
- Carrier management with operation cost and service accountabilities: inclusive of performance monitoring, 3PL monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Service delivery and safety: overlook all delivery operations, addressing issues, resolving claims and promoting a high standard of safety and provide a healthy work environment
- Management and development of the transport team: lead, motivate and develop direct reports toward high performance outcomes and promote succession and development planning through coaching and mentoring
Fleet responsibilities: inclusive of management of forecasting, peak period planning,costs and optimal fleet mixStakeholder engagement and supply chain management: work closely with DC Operations, National Divisions and 3PL teams to ensure continuous operational flow and effective daily task coordination
To succeed in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Broad experience and achievements in transport operations management positions in a multi-site environment in the domains of FMCG or Retail, with a comprehensive understanding of transport operations and the OH&S and RTW legislation.
- Strong experience in service delivery, cost management, budget management and team leadership.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise and influence all levels of the organisation.
- Proven experience delivering outcomes in line with business requirements and expectations.Formal qualifications in business or supply chain operations are highly desirable
