In the role of a Transport Planner, experience in planning is essential for the successful development of a cost-effective plan that addresses Ocado’s transport requirements while optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs). The position involves coordinating transport needs, ensuring optimal staffing levels, and collaborating with key stakeholders to align the plan with organizational requirements, ensuring feasibility, and compliance with drivers’ hours rules, regulations, and working time directives. Proficiency in scheduling drivers and trailers using various spreadsheets to create daily/weekly transport plans is essential, demanding strong problem-solving skills and quick thinking. Effective communication and customer service skills are paramount, given constant interaction with diverse stakeholders throughout the day. Additionally, the role encompasses a significant amount of administration, emphasizing the importance of meticulous attention to detail.
