Role description:
The Transportation Analyst is responsible for providing insights and analysis to support efficient transportation and warehouse operations at Ardagh Metal Packaging – North America (AMP-NA). By developing key performance metrics and identifying cost-saving opportunities, the analyst plays a critical role in optimizing logistics and supporting data-driven decision-making across departments.

MINIMUM SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of logistics and transportation experience, with a focus on freight analysis and transportation systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or Application Programming Interface (API) processes
  • Familiarity with different modes of transportation, including ground transportation and rail

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical support to carriers, warehouses, plants, and departments
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in AMP-NA’s transportation management systems (TMS) and technology
  • Manage the TMS to track and optimize load efficiency and logistics performance
  • Leverage Power BI and other data tools to analyze transportation services and costs
  • Identify and solve logistical challenges
  • Provide actionable insights to support decisions on logistics strategy, vendor performance, and forecasting
  • Build and maintain cost-benefit models for logistics projects
  • Track vendor performance against goals and analyze trade-offs for budget impacts
  • Collect, clean, and synthesize data from multiple sources using advanced tools like SQL, Pivot Tables, and VB Macros for data analysis
  • Map processes and workflows to identify improvements in cross-functional collaboration and efficiency
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems by validating, storing, and protecting key information
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives such as drop trailer programs, dock scheduling optimization, and shipper-of-choice offerings
  • Serve as the SME for logistics systems, supporting users, developing new reports, and conducting training sessions for peers, plant employees, and vendors
  • Identify potential risks related to transportation and logistics and propose mitigating strategies
  • Work with the sustainability team to identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions in transportation, such as optimizing routes or exploring alternative fuels
