The Transportation coordinator is accountable for the day-to day operations in the Transportation department and for increasing the effectiveness of the transportation network by lowering costs, increasing efficiency and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Accountabilities:

  • Assures the efficient and economical transportation of Mercury Marine products to/from Brunswick Marine in EMEA locations or direct shipments from suppliers to international customers in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes.
  • Prepares and maintains files for import/export documents as customs declarations, commercial invoice, shipper’s export declaration, transport document, import certificate, etc, required for the correct completion of import/export activities in line with our customs agreement and SOX rules.
  • Ability to facilitate all necessary shipping documentation related to international shipments such as: HAWBs, Shipping Instructions, Hazardous Cargo, declarations., Bills of Lading, and Certificate of Origin, etc.
  • Track/trace shipments, research, resolve issues regarding shipping discrepancies, and communicate in a timely manner to both customers services or buyers.
  • Respond to internal customer inquiries including shipping deliveries performance, rates/freight quotes for imports and exports in a timely, accurate and consultative manner.
  • Establish and / or grow relationships with carriers, freight forwarders to constantly improve service competitiveness.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders to ensure shipping routes are aligned with our shipping process. Drive execution through timely implementation of the best options, in accordance with the transportation strategy.
  • Organize the weekly planning of the shipments out and in BME and coordinate with the operational departments involved.
  • Monitor transportation key performance indicators for delivery requirements in support of operational goals of the department.
  • To operate in line with company policies and procedures, especially relating to quality management system, the company ethics program and the company’s health, safety and environmental policies

Skills and knowledge:

  • Relevant bachelor degree
  • 1-3 years’ experience in international trade, customs or international transportation/logistics
  • Good working knowledge of MS office: computer proficiency with standard software packages, including Word, Excel, Windows.
  • Advanced level of business English in verbal and written. Knowledge of another European language is an asset
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written) skills among the team and to the hierarchy

Our offer:

This exciting and Innovative position is a Global Grade 7 and offers a salary of between €38,000 to €43,000 (payable in 13.92 instalments). Please be aware that this range represents the pay range for all positions within the job grade in which the post falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, experience, and location (country). We also offer the following benefits:
